In the context of everything from Donald Trump, law enforcement officers, and even Sydney Sweeney, the nation’s left regularly trots out comparisons to Hitler, Nazis, and the Third Reich.
In doing so, they expose an abundance of ignorance as to the true magnitude of evil represented by the totalitarian reign of Adolf Hitler and the National Socialist movement in Germany in the 1930s and 40s. Such comparisons are cheap, inaccurate, uneducated, and hysterical.
They are also easy. Too easy. Willful ignorance usually is.
But hey, I can play along with a few comparisons of my own too…
Adam Shiff, Cory Booker, and Jaime Raskin are vegetarians. Just like Hitler.
Joe Biden had a German Shepherd. Just like Hitler.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg loved opera. Just like Hitler.
Ilhan Omar came to power in a country other than where she was born. Just like Hitler.
Eric Swalwell is a bachelor. Just like Hitler.
Ryan Gosling has a wife named Eva. Just like Hitler (for a day).
Dick Durbin is 5’ 9½” tall. Just like Hitler.
Bob Menendez committed financial corruption. Just like Hitler.
Jimmy Carter and Hunter Biden had a strong interest in painting. Just like Hitler.
Kamala Harris has chosen to not have children. Just like Hitler.
Barack Obama had a half-brother and half-sister. Just like Hitler.
John F. Kennedy served in the military. Just like Hitler.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez rejects capitalism. Just like Hitler.
One third of Americans don’t drive. Just like Hitler.
Bill Clinton is a voracious reader. Just like Hitler.
James Carville rose to the rank of Corporal in the military. Just like Hitler.
Rashida Talib, Ilhan Omar and Zohran Mamdani are antisemitic. Just like Hitler.
I could go on…
It is truly astounding just how many American political leaders on the left (and Ryan Gosling) are so like Adolf Hitler.
